Middle East is emerging as one of the strong markets for the Thermax cooling business. Following its successful installation at SABIC in Saudi Arabia, two more national oil companies of the region have opted for Thermax chillers.
In a unique pilot project, Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s national oil company is trying out a Thermax vapour absorption system, which will replace one of its conventional electrical chillers. Aramco, looking for green options, is keen on phasing out its older Freon based chillers. The pilot project will show the way.
In the same region, Kuwait National Petroleum Company is installing a Thermax chiller at one of its refineries. The first ever absorption installation in Kuwait, the Thermax system will use low pressure steam to produce chilled water for process cooling.
